How do I start or manage a DDShield Drive trial?
Eligible DentalDrive accounts can start hardware trials from the app dashboard. If you landed here from the manual, sign in at app.dentaldrive.com and open the DDShield Drive trial flow from your account. For eligibility questions, email support@dentaldrive.com with your practice ID.
The backup drive does not show a letter in Windows — is that expected?
Often yes. DDShield is designed to reduce OS visibility outside your backup window so ransomware has fewer writable targets. Confirm job health in the DentalDrive dashboard and Recovery Center instead of relying on Explorer alone.
How do I get started with DentalDrive?
Register for an account, download the Windows client, and install it. The client will automatically start backing up your selected folders.
How often are backups performed?
DentalDrive performs continuous backups. Files are backed up within minutes of changes being detected.
Is DentalDrive secure?
Yes. DentalDrive provides enterprise-grade security, encryption in transit and at rest, and documentation for agreements your practice may need.
How do I restore files?
Open the Recovery Center in your dashboard, select a recovery point, choose files or folders, then run Restore to your chosen path.
What if the Windows client will not connect?
Check your internet connection, ensure required ports are allowed by your firewall, and verify credentials. If problems persist, email support@dentaldrive.com with timestamps and any error text.
Can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel from account settings. Retention policies apply to data after cancellation — see your plan terms or contact support for details.
